We might not be able to welcome you to our beautiful restaurant or bar at the moment, but there’s no time like the present to enjoy a crisp glass of Prosecco while living your best socially-distanced life at home. Prosecco on its own is great, but there are ways to raise its game and make it even more delectable on a cool summers evening.
Our restaurant team recommend some accompaniments to add a touch of pizazz to a glass of Prosecco.
Here are some fun ways to pimp your Prosecco:
Grab a tub of lemon or mango sorbet and drop a hearty scoop into your glass. The tangy taste along with the cooling element will really give your Prosecco that summer feel.
Often overlooked, these low-cost bunches of green joy can really add something special to even the simplest drink. Mint, Lavender, Basil or Rosemary are just a few that can be added in to spark some serious flavour.
Now don’t run to the art cupboard just yet, you’ll need to get some edible glitter to recreate this masterpiece. But once obtained, sprinkle it into the glass, give it a little mix and watch your Prosecco come to life.
While simple, fruit in both solid and pureed form can really enhance a glass of Prosecco, whether it be through colour and/or taste. Pick your favourite fruits and start experimenting. Some of our personal favourites include, blueberries, peaches, strawberries and even grapefruit for a tangier tipple.
If you’re feeling adventurous, how about exploring some combinations using some of our examples? Basil and strawberry go well together in desserts so the same may be said in a drink, and ice cream or sorbet we know already goes well with fruit so again, experiment a little and see what works for you.
Whichever you choose, it adds that special touch to any occasion, particularly a lockdown birthday.
A glass of Prosecco is an ideal low-calorie, low-sugar drink that is surprisingly versatile, and more affordable than Champagne. It pairs well with a number of food types including stuffed mushrooms, creamy sauces, seafood and even spicy curries.
